According to legend, during the Southern Song Dynasty, Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun was grateful for the sufferings of the world and sent his Qingxuan boy to the world to save the world. The boy traveled all over the Three Mountains and Five Peaks, picking up the essence of heaven and earth, using five-color cloud brocade as a rope, stringing red amethyst into a chain, and hanging a golden gourd as a pendant to make a "Qi chain". This chain was once placed in the Demon Subduing Hall of Longhu Mountain, absorbing incense for thousands of years. Legend has it that the wearer can use the compassion of Tianzun to resolve disasters and gather wealth and blessings.
Red and purple belong to fire (Nanming Lihuo), and the golden gourd belongs to gold, which is in line with the principle of "fire refining true gold", forming an energy cycle of "fire generating earth, earth generating gold", and stabilizing the foundation of wealth and career. The gourd is homophonic to "Fulu", and gold and diamonds symbolize the sustainability of wealth. The vine winding design implies "continuous descendants", which fits the scenes of weddings and family inheritance. The "fire" nature of the red amethyst and the "gold" nature of the golden gourd are connected in series through the red brocade rope (fire), forming a balance of "fire is strong and gold is melting → gold restrains fire", avoiding extremes of the five elements, implying "hardness and softness go hand in hand, and good times will come after bad times".
